caribbean coast

From Belize to Panama, this is pretty much how I´ve found the entire Caribbean coast of Central America….picture perfect….

In the basement of the building that the CollegeClub office resides, is a dingy cafeteria with one wall painted as a tropical island. I would go down there each morning, and stare at that wall while I waited for my blueberry bagel and think…”I´ve been there….and I WILL be back.” And here I am. It was a nice dream realized.

The Caribbean coast of Central America is an entirely different world than central and western Central America. The culture, the people, the attitude…and the language. Mostly Caribbean English is spoken, which is pretty much more foreign to travelers than Chinese. Luckily, most people speak Spanish also, and how funny is it that it´s easier for me to communicate in Spanish than with this accented English? On a somewhat related topic, I’m starting a photo gallery of funny-ass-signs-found-abroad. And it starts with this one…..

I wake up from my hammock naps giggling over that one every day.

Good morning. I’m having trouble with your blog. I can’t see the photos. Is everyone having this problem? I have been having trouble with my laptop lately, so I’m not sure if its my computer or if its your blog. Thanks!

I just wanted to thank you very much for this illuminating article. I have already bookmarked your site, when I have more free time I am going to have to do some further reading. Well back to my dreaming of Panama or back to the books – I wonder which one is going to win out. 🙂
