Kumaon Traveler May 10, 2010 at 7:44 am Kumaon name is believed to be derived from Kurmanchal meaning land of Kumavatar (the tortoise avatar of Lord Vishnu). Overall, a beautiful place with beautiful places. From Nainital to Munsiyari, it’s really really good.
